Let’s begin by 💠imagining a common classroom situation here.
You inform your 20-student class that you are about to read them a very interesting story. Immediately, four to five children return to their seats, ready for the class to begin. Then there are six to seven students who were not attentive at first but are now gradually settling into their seats. Then there's a group of students in the opposite corner of the classroom, doing something. They are so engaged that they do not stop their activity.
As a teacher, whom do you focus on 🤔?
Well, it has been found that it is far more effective to focus on the children that are doing 👉 what you want them to do. This is because children want your attention. So when you give attention to those who are behaving according to your instructions, more children will behave that way.
